BCC Data Miner - System Highilghts
The screen shot below show the various areas of the BCC data miner workspace.

Dimension – An attribute associated with a piece of data, for example time spent at work is spent by a Person, doing a certain Task for a certain Client. Each of the underlined items is a Dimension which can be used to filter data and/or to summarise and analyse that data.
Fact – The figures which you’re analysing. This may be time spent, dollars spent, ratings received, etc. A Fact will have a number of Dimensions associated with it allowing the user to collate and view the figures in a variety of ways.
Tailoring the Dimensions and Facts – Names and Groupings of both Facts and Dimensions are completely tailorable. Set up your view of the data to reflect how you want to work.
Drag and Drop Dimensions – Dimensions can be dragged onto and removed from either the top or left hand axis, allowing you to determine the level of detail required and the sort order applicable.

Filtering by Dimension – Each Dimension will contain a number of elements. You can determine which of these is included in your view simply by ticking them on or off as required.

Swapping axes – A single button allows you to switch the dimensions from the top to the left axis, and vice versa.
Expand and Collapse Dimensions – You can summarise data where there’s more than one Dimension on either axis by simply selecting to collapse the dimensions. Drilling down for more detail is as simple as expanding a dimension.
Search for data - You can search for text in a dimension by right clicking on the Dimension name and selecting the Search option:

Sorting Dimensions – You can sort data by Dimension.
Select Facts to view – Where there’s more than one available Fact (eg Billable Hours and Non Billable Hours), you can determine which ones you want to view by using the Visible setting.

Viewing percentages - By default the figures displayed for each Fact are numbers. However if you want to view percentages instead, you should press the “% On” button on the toolbar. Percentages can total to 100% from left to right, or from top to bottom.

Control totalling – Both vertical and horizontal totalling is controlled by the user.

Getting cube data – Cubes are generally build automatically and all you need to do is download them. However on occasions you may receive a cube from someone else (eg via email). You can either “Open” a cube to work with it temporarily, or “Import” it to add it to your local cube store.

Exporting cube data – There are five options for exporting a Cube as shown below, allowing you to send cubes to other people, or access the cube data in tools like Excel, Word, web browsers, etc. The way the data is exported is controlled by the current view you have setup.

Printing a Cube – Cube data can be printed. Again, what is printed and how, is controlled by the view you have currently set up.
